Treat at Sanibel Schnapper's Hots

Over the water and back again....
to Schnapper's Hots we go!

Today was one of those days that
the water looked dark blue.
The seagulls color was a stark white against the dark water, as they flew around in a feeding frenzy.

Later tonight we drove over to Periwinkle Way to have a Halloween treat at Schnapper's Hots!

Yummy!
We saw some little trick-or-treaters on our drive there and back, but I will venture a guess that their treats were not as good as ours.

Windsurf a Sanibel Sunset

I had planned to watch the sunset this evening from the beach, but I got busy and when I noticed the time, it was 6:30.  Not knowing if we could get to West Gulf Drive in time, we opted to go to the Sanibel Causeway instead.  As we went across the bridge, I could see that we might be able to get parked in time to take a few photos.
When the sun gets close to the horizon, it seems like it goes down very fast.

Would we make it?

Yes we did! :)

Notice the windsurfer taking advantage
of the NW wind.

He flew back and forth in front of us.  You could consider that intruding on your sunset or entertaining, depending on your mood I guess.  I thought it was kind of entertaining and nice having the sail in my photos.

The temperature was 78 degrees this evening and the wind was cool.  I'm thinking our windsurfer could have been a little chilly.

After walking a little way, looking for tiny shells, it was time to go.
I had one tiny Rose Petal Tellin, a big shiny Jingle, little piece of coral and a tiny Tiger lucine.  Enough to make me happy. :)

Pointe Santo de Sanibel Visit

A little over a week ago, we had a visit from family, who stayed at Pointe Santo.  That same week an internet friend, from Arizona, also came to stay at the same place.  We have gotten pretty well acquainted over the past couple of years.  Year before last, I arranged to meet her and took a bag of assorted shells to give to her daughter.  They loved them and that made me happy. :)  They are a lovely family and I liked them instantly.
Sadly, this time we just couldn't get time arranged to get together.  The last evening of their stay, I ran by to talk to them for a few minutes.  I got them to pose for one quick photo, even though they had been out all day and thought they were not in top form.  Last second before the shot, Samantha had to make a dash to get her hat, that's why we were laughing.  I know inside they were actually sad because they had to leave the next morning.

Sheri's online name is Little Black Scrap Cat.  You will see why, when you look at the gift she brought to me.  It was so sweet.  She knew about my little Great Grandson coming to visit and thought I could use the scrapbook she made, for pictures of the family visit.

I have seen Sheri's scrapping work on her blog and she has made some of the cutest books ever!  Take a look at her blog and you can share in all of the things they did while on vacation here.  They didn't miss much. :)  I can only imagine the scrapbook she will make from their beautiful vacation photos.

The photos below are for you, Sheri and Samantha.  Thanks again for your thoughtfulness.

A look on the beach at Pointe Santo today, shows the small amount of visitors this week.

Shells were a little sparse.

A Sand Dune or Sand Mountain???

Over the Bridge Tuesday

I didn't get a chance to go beaching today.  It was time for some shopping; so over the Sanibel Causeway we went. :)  Loving this weather!

Sunny Sanibel Sunday

It was a beautiful, sunny day with easterly wind to keep you cool.  After running some erands this morning, I went to resident access 5 on West Gulf Drive.  I turned to the right after I got on the beach and started walking.  When I passed access 6 I began noticing more shells.  There were LOTS of Coquinas and plenty of other shells, but not many kinds that I wanted to take home.  I was so busy looking at shells, I walked a little further than I had intended.  I really enjoyed my peaceful time on the beach, even though I did get a little warm, until I turned around to face the wind on the way back.
