Relaxing Sanibel Sunset

This has been the most pleasant winter that I have experienced so far.  The weather has been magnificent!
The past couple of days and nights were a little chilly, but back up to 73 degrees today.

Here's the sunset view from the Sanibel Causeway.

Another Sanibel Sunset

 The weather is fantastic!
Mid 80's today and 69 last night.  Today we had sunshine and a cool wind, couldn't have been better!

A friend sent this photo to me today.
She said it made her think of me.
Do you know where she was?

This evening was so pleasant; I just had to watch the sunset. :)

When I turned to leave, I spotted the moon.

When I arrived home,
Mr Puffin was waiting for me. :)

Sanibel Relaxation

After a relaxing day, we watched the sunset this evening from the Sanibel Causeway.  The shore line was lined with lots of other people who also had camera in hand.

Our friends from the Netherlands have come here for their annual vacation.  They came bearing gifts. :)  A Dutch cook book, some yummy Dutch candy and a couple of other things.  There are a few of the recipes I am anxious to try.  The flowers came from our yard.

First thing this morning, I took Puffin Man outside.  There was a golf ball laying in the middle of our driveway.  (I think I've mentioned that the golf course is just across the street.)  He ran to pick it up and was all excited about his treasure and had to carry it inside with him.

I let him play with it for a while, until I could sneak it away.  I wasn't sure what kind of chemicals might be in the materials it's made of.  He was having a great time with it, while it lasted. :)

Captiva Sunset

On a drive Friday evening, we got to see a very nice sunset.

We made it back to Sanibel in time to see this view from the causeway.

Sunny Sanibel Sunday

This has been a perfect, sunny Sunday!  The weather has been especially nice for the past week.  80's in the day time and mid 70's at night.  We had a nice rain shower yesterday, just didn't last very long.  It has been windy and the humidity low for here, which has made it wonderful to be outside.

This evening we drove to a Sanibel Causeway island to watch the sunset.  As you can see, we barely got there in time.  There were cars parked everywhere when we arrived and people were lining the shore, watching as the sun went down. :)

Winter Cold Reaches Sanibel

I wanted to watch the sunset this evening with the Grand kids, even though it was getting pretty chilly.  The wind was fierce and cold!  Sorry folks up north, I know you have much worse weather.

There was pretty heavy cloud cover so we didn't see much sunset, but what we did see was pretty.  The wind was blowing the water so hard that big pieces of foam were blowing through the air.

We went to Lighthouse Beach to see how things looked there.  As we drove into the parking area, we could see there was a lot of beach wrack all over the place!  The birds were having a great time, and so were some people that were brave enough to wade through ankle deep water to search for something they considered treasures.

We were not dressed appropriately for the occasion and I have been sick with sinus problems, but before we knew what had happened we were walking through the muck, picking up things along the way.  The kids were having fun looking at a lot of things they had never seen on the beach before.

Lots and lots of pen shells, big cockles, paper figs, sailor ears, urchins, starfish, and other things mixed in.  We were only there for about 15 to 20 minutes, but we had a great time.
