A New Year on Sanibel

I know you've all been wondering what has happened to my posts lately. Sorry, I should have at least posted that I was too busy and too tired to work on my blog.

There were holiday preparations, decorating, and lots of company! :) We had the most wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas you could ask for. The weather was the best ever!

There were happy drives, with blooming trees lining the streets, on our way to the airport to pick up family!

The first two arrived to spend a week!

Christmas was in the air, everywhere!

Our new little Grand Dog came too!

There will be a couple more posts to share our happy holiday time!

I'm trying to catch up, but I'm a little slow. :)
For now, things are all calm again, decorations put away, house cleaned, and resting period has ensued. Oh, I probably should mention that all Snowbirds are back in full force. :) My New Year's resolution is to enjoy watching them love this sunshine. We'll see how that works out. LOL

Another item of interest is the new Live Osprey Cam at Ocean's Reach. I've walked on the beach a lot of times, looking up at osprey nests and wishing I could see inside them.  Now I can, and so can you.  I think it will be interesting to watch the eggs hatching and watching mom and dad take care of the babies. Thanks to Ocean's Reach for allowing us this opportunity!

A Sanibel Beachy Afternoon

It's been perfect weather here.  Sure doesn't seem like it's getting near the holiday season.  But everywhere you go, there are signs of Thanksgiving and Christmas appearing.  Yesterday we went to Bailey's Hardware and I enjoyed looking at all of the tropical ornaments they have hanging on their Christmas trees to sell.  They are really cute! :)

After that, we went to the beach for a while.

Puffin thought it was a perfect time for bird watching again.

Also a little shelling.

After walking a little while, his tongue was hanging out and he was ready to go home.

We enjoyed the sunshine and the warm breeze!

Another Sanibel Sunset

 The weather is fantastic!

Mid 80's today and 69 last night.  Today we had sunshine and a cool wind, couldn't have been better!

A friend sent this photo to me today. 

She said it made her think of me.

This evening was so pleasant; I just had to watch the sunset. :)

When I turned to leave, I spotted the moon.

When I arrived home,

Mr Puffin was waiting for me. :)

Off & On Sanibel

I'm loving these clouds. :)  If there are clouds around, there's usually a beautiful view from the Sanibel Causeway.

The causeway islands were crowded this afternoon with people celebrating a long 4th of July weekend.

After being trapped in a Lowe's Store for over an hour in the pouring rain, we started back to the island.

When we got home, there was water standing in our driveway.  We had gotten around 1 1/4" of rain.  We really can use the rain.

About an hour later, there was a big rainbow.
