Last week we left Sanibel to fly north for a holiday visit. This is the beautiful poinsettia tree that is at Southwest Florida International Airport. It was hard too trade mid 70 temperatures for those in the teens and snow to go along with that.
Notice the chilly warning we got when we saw the tree at Indianapolis International Airport. Brrrr!
We had a great time visiting with family, despite the frigid cold. We came back with two of the Grands, who are spending Christmas here at Sanibel. Coming back home to sunshine and warmth is the best gift ever!
I just wanted to share these cute palms with you. They are my favorites on the island, because I love the big ornaments they are adorned with.
Yesterday afternoon the Grands and I went to the beach at resident access 5 on West Gulf Drive. The weather was perfect for a nice walk on the beach. There were shells lying about, but only three that interested me enough to pick them up.

Ahhhh Sanibel! We were just talking with my Sister-in-law and her husband last night about our Spring trip to Sanibel -- We're ready to change our cold temps for Sanibel Sun! Merry Christmas!
Huge difference in weather between Indiana and Florida, lol! My parents are from Vincennes, which isn't that far from Indianapolis, I don't think. Glad you're home again and enjoying the beach. We're headed for Galveston tomorrow to spend our holiday. Have a blessed and merry Christmas. xo Beth
Lovely pictures. Can't wait to be at Sanibel in Jan. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
So awesome that you get to have some company at Christmas. :) I would love to fly into your warm temps. I need to thaw out! -48* in town right now....and I have to finish shopping in it tomorrow. Yuck!
With the lack of posting Debbie and I wondered if maybe you weren't up this way. Glad you had a great visit with your family.
Merry Christmas Tootie! I'm glad I found you here...a wonderful connection to my earlier life! Hugs-Diana
Merry Christmas! Thanks for the enjoyment I have received from your blog all year. We are getting snow this morning. Very pretty and Christmasy, but I don't like the idea of driving to Sedalia on it. I'd rather be in Sanibel!
Merry Christmas, Toots, to you & your family!
May I post your SWFL Regional Tree picture to my Facebook for my friends? I plan on linking to your sight, as many of my Facebook people are family, who visit Sanibel & Us & will appreciate your blog.
Ahhhh....there's nothing like stepping off of that plane in Ft Meyers and feeling the balminess of the air and smelling the water......
Have a blessed Christmas holiday with your family, Tootie!
xoxo laurie
