This evening we went to resident access 3 off of West Gulf Dr. It was a nice sunny, clear day but the temperature only got up to 60 degrees. If you were in an area out of the wind and in the sun, it was comfortable to sit outside, and actually felt a little warmer to me. Tonight it's supposed to go down to 32. There were a few brave souls on the beach looking for shells and 1 man fishing. The water temperature in the Gulf is 66 degrees. As you will be able to tell from my photos, the shells I saw weren't of much interest to me.
Is this cold spell a normal part of your winter? Will it be warming up soon? Must be hard to have endless beaches with cold temperatures...those two just don't go together!
I am a retired, grandmother who is living a dream in this tropical paradise, called Sanibel Island.
My blog was created to share some of the beauty I see around me each day. This tranquil place is a haven for wildlife and the natural beaches are spectacular. I will post pictures now and then, that I snap quickly with my cellphone.
Since I am on 'Island Time' and consider myself to be a 'Slacker', my posts may not be on a regular basis. But,I hope you enjoy my adventures and come back to visit often.

Just stopped by to send a hug and blessings in the new year.
