Just like the Pony Express, no wind or cold kept us from the beach. The sun felt very warm as I walked out to the beach, but once that cold wind hit me in the face, I knew I wouldn't be there long.
In an easterly direction I could see a few people on the beach in front of Mitchell's Sandcastles and looking west, there were a couple of people in front of the Blue Dolphin. One man was sitting in a beach chair was wearing a jacket with a stocking cap pulled over his ears and a blanket. I figured he was looking out at the water and thinking about the snow flying up north.
After walking for a short time, looking at shells, and picking up one piece of driftwood, the wind made my eyes start watering, my nose run, and my ears hurt. I turned the other way and headed back toward beach access 6 where I had come from. Talk about wind chill! A song kept going through my head and I was humming and thinking the words, 'frozen toes in the water, cold a-- in the sand, not a worry in the world, don't want a cold beer in my hand'. But, life is still good today! :-)
Someone was working extra hard excavating, trying to find the perfect shells.

As soon as I got home, I had some hot chocolate to warm me up again. (Love the mug Chris!)

I'll take your white shells over our white snow at the moment! 1F with a windchill about -35 to -40 at the moment, all outdoor water is solid. Interstate 90 is closed again because of white-out conditions. That deep-freeze weather stretches all the way from us in SD to you in FL, YIKES!
I'm with the guy in the beach chair. Would rather be there than here!
I was thinking 40's wouldn't be so bad, but with windy...no thanks. I had a nice +15 at home today and calm as could be. I bet I felt warmer in the yard than you did at the beach. It's so dry here it really isn't bad. (Now I'll go sit by the fire!). :)
I hope it warms up soon,it was freezing on our last trip & I still went knee deep into the water for shells. That's a nice monitor too :)
Since when did you get to be a USF fan? ;-)
Look at that Purdy new computer.....
