Sunday and Second Grand Daughter

This evening marked the arrival of the second Grand Daughter to join our summer festivities. Now, there is one 14 year old (in her words, "almost 15") and a 15 year old here for most of the summer. Are we having fun yet? Yes, we are!

When we left the island today around 3:30 to go to the airport, the causeway islands were packed with people. Cars were parked facing the water, in a row, all the way from one end to the other and on both sides. There were so many jet skis out; more than I've seen at one time. It was cloudy, but that didn't seem to be stopping anyone from enjoying their afternoon. It was 88 degrees with a South wind, the water in the Gulf is 86.

The photos don't really show how crowded it was. A little further on, the cars were parked really close together.

On the way back, a little after six, I was surprised that there was hardly anyone left on the causeway islands. I guess they had worn themselves out. The clouds looked really pretty.

Later this evening, we had a few things to do at Pointe Santo de Sanibel on West Gulf Drive. We got there just before sunset. So, you get a view of what could be seen of it at this time of year. It seemed to me, everyone staying there was out looking for shells because the tide was low. The larger group of people you can see at the end of the video is at the Tarpon Bay Public Beach area.

So how are the girls doing at Grandma's for the summer? They aren't whining about missing the boys are they? lol I bet you are a lot of fun for them. Enjoy the sun and sand.
