Sanibel Tuesday

Very nice and warm today with the temperature reaching 79. This evening on the west gulf beach, in front of Pointe Santo and Sanibel Cottages, the southeast wind was kind of chilly. There were small shells scattered on the beach and I saw no red drift algae there. There was a big starfish sand sculpture, in front of the Sanibel Cottages.

Taken in front of Sanibel Cottages. It was pretty windy and a little on the cool side . There were a lot of Sandpipers feeding and bathing.

I called today to ask about the laughing gull that we took to C.R.O.W. several days ago. You may remember the story about finding it. It didn't have any injuries that we could see, but they found that it's right wing and leg had been injured and that's why it can't fly. It is still in their care, receiving pain medication and they are optimistic that it will heal. We can call again next week for another update.

Hi Tootie, I love that starfish sculpture.. Someone was very creative.

Hope the gull heals. It's so nice that you all helped save his life.

Have a great day tomorrow.
Hugs,

I never see any sculptures on the beach when we go. Thanks for taking the photo & posting it. Whoever did it , it looks great.
I cant get over how much Blind Pass has changed.

I can't imagine how long that starfish took to make and whoever did it is quite ambitious. I think I would take a scoop and pail to the beach and end up with all the shells at home.

Good news about the gull Tootie. I was impressed with that starfish 'sandcastle' - Dave

That Starfish is just awesome! Who would take the time to DO that? I mean, I've done nifty sand sculptures -- but then to cover it in all those tiny little shells... Amazing!

Fantastic starfish sculpture!

Glad your gull is recuperating. Hopefully it will be released soon.

I'm glad to hear that the bird is getting help. Poor thing!

That starfish is something I could get into. Not the sculpture part - haven't any talent in that department - but the very contemplative job of taking an entire afternoon to find and place each shell just so.... I think I could get into that!

miss you, we must crawl this weekend, I'm thinkin'.....

Loved the starfish!!!

I'm with Tink. Lots of time and patience finding all those shells.

I'm glad the gull has a good chance of recovering.
