It was another beautiful 80 degree day, here in our Sanibel Paradise today.
The last few days there have been activities going on at the Sanibel Causeway. The Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival was held Nov.3 through Nov. 6.
A friend who kayaks, was going, and he told us that it would be interesting and included lots of eco-themed fun. There were kayak and canoe races, a fishing tournament, paddling demos, guided tours and other things.
I know it's too late for this year, but you can always check out the info regarding this year's event, at The Calusa Blueway Paddling Festival website, and be prepared to join in the fun next year.
We went for a drive over the causeway this afternoon and saw a lot of people out
having a great time.
There were several vehicles parked along side the road with lights flashing to warn drivers to slow down.
This evening, I was at Point Santo de Sanibel on West Gulf Drive, just in time to watch the sunset.
Lots of shells. :)
This video is not great, and you might want to hold on to the arms of your chair as you watch it. Because, and old person had to unfold herself and stand up during this process. And yes, it did take a while too! Ugh! Sorry!
As I walked away from the beach, I noticed a couple standing on their roof top deck, watching the sunset. :) What a beautiful view they must have had, and a perfect end to their day.

I always enjoy your beautiful sunsets (and sunrises). The Paddling Festival sounds as if it would be lots of fun.
Nice....80*, beautiful skies and stunning sunset. What a wonderful life.
This is the Happiest Place on Earth for me!!! Thanks for bringing me back!
Hope you received your package.
Oh.....what a beautiful video, Tootie. I never tire of watching that ocean roll onto the shell-covered sand and hear the tinkling of the shells in the retreating waves.... *sigh*.... Thank you for continuing to share your beautiful Sanibel with us. I love every second I visit with you there. :)

Loved the video and the sunset photos are gorgeous. I can tell you from personal experience that the roof top view at Pointe Santo is lovely. You have no idea how much I wish I were sitting on that beach right now. Thanks for a much needed slice of heaven.
