A Sanibel Sunset and Party Time!

We are loving this weather!  It was around 80 today and 62 last night.  Our 'Snowbird' neighbors are flocking back to the island.  We've already seen many of them out enjoying the sunshine and warm weather.  The bad side of that, is the traffic.  We went to Ft Myers this afternoon and it was very apparent, by looking at license plates and simply by the number of vehicles on the road, that 'season' has begun.

On the way back across the Sanibel Causeway, the sunset was beautiful.

I think it was a special sunset, just for
the two in the photo below.

Today was the 20th birthday of our parrot, Lexus.
We had a little celebration for him this evening.
He was excited to see his birthday cake and his gifts.  He will have as much fun taking that pumpkin apart, as he will tearing his new toys into toothpicks.

Puffin, the furball, as Lexi calls him, wanted to celebrate with him.  Lotus, the other parrot, wanted to watch from the safety of her cage.  She really isn't much of a party animal.  Puffin thought we really didn't need another dusty, feather pickin' bird near the cake anyway.

After all the excitement, things are pretty quiet around here tonight. :)

Yes, "season" has started here as well. All of our winter residents are back.

Looks like a fabulous party for Lexus! What a lucky feather duster!

I will be shipping you a package soon. I still haven't quite gotten back in step since we got home!!! Missing the beach!

I didn't even realize you had Lotus. Have you posted photos of him before and I'm really that forgetful? I love the one of Lexi with her feathers up. Such a beautiful bird.
