Sanibel Cold Chillin'

The meaning for 'Cold Chillin'  is the state of doing absolutely nothing and having fun doing it.  That actually describes the day I had. :)  But also, it was a little chilly for my bones when I was outside in a shady area, today.  I know that's hard for you northerners to hear, but the wind did feel a little cool to me, since I'm used to days in the 80's.  It only (and I say only, in a Florida kind of way) got up to 70 here today.

We decided to go to the beach anyway.  When we stopped at resident access 2 on West Gulf Drive, the NNW wind felt pretty chilly.  When we walked out on the beach, it actually felt pretty nice, because the sun felt so warm.  I could see there were no interesting shells, so we didn't stay long.

I guess we weren't the only ones who thought it was too cool for the beach.  There wasn't one other person in sight.

Because of the wind direction and the waves, I was guessing that there would probably be shells at Blind Pass, but I knew it would be too cold out there for me.  I've been there and grabbed for shells with cold water blowing all over me too many times. :)  So, we headed back home.  On the way, a friend called to tell us that shells were rolling in at Blind Pass.  I told her to enjoy it and let me know what she found.  She later called to say she had picked up several Tulips, a couple Nutmegs and a few other kinds.

Tonight it is supposed to get down to around 47 degrees, brrrr!

I hope it stays cool and windy just long enough to blow in a ton of shells! Looking forward to warmer weather next week. :)

Even though I am at -16 today (it warmed up! Yea!) I totally get what you are saying. I was trying to think of the time of year that we were at Sarasota...I think February? Anyhow, we went swimming and spent a whole (windy) day at the beach, but we were kind of alone. It really was cold, but we sucked it up 'cause it's not something we ever get to do. I think I'll drag out some of those photos and share with you all. :) Cold chillin' sounds like a great day! :)

I know how 70 can seem kinda chilly for Sanibel - especially when out on the beach. Even though I'd give anything for 70 right about now, Tootie! We had 5" of snow yesterday and it was only 30 here today. UGH! Gorgeous photos, as usual, and how lucky you were to be the only one out on the beach! :)

Wonderful photos! It was that beautiful here today, also, and, at nearly 80 degrees, I was still the only one on the beach! No great shells to speak of, but a fun walk anyway!

Love your cute snowman with his floral hat. We had a little dusting of snow --- all gone by noon (just the way I like it). Thanks for visiting me.
