The Ever Changing Sanibel Sky

This evening we were at Pointe Santo on West Gulf Drive. There was quite a sky show as the sun started to go down. At this time of year, you can't actually see the sunset from there. But, I don't think the sky could have been more beautiful. At first there were billowy white clouds in the east and they gradually changed color from pink to a blazing orange and then back again. As we looked toward the sunset, the most beautiful part was behind us. I think a painter would have a hard time duplicating that sky. Some of the most beautiful colored clouds I have seen during sunsets, have been from Pointe Santo's beach. Sometimes we complain about hot, humid days and no-see-ums, but one look at this, makes you forget all about that. You can't tell me this place isn't paradise. :)

There were shells lying in wait, but the sky was getting all the attention.

Even this pelican had to sit down to watch.

What will happen on our little barrier island tomorrow?  Stay tuned. :)

Beautiful pictures Tootie. I think my favorite is the last. I like how the horizontal bands of clouds intersect with the vertical wisp of clouds and what looks like rain in the back grounds. I also like the way the line of the water leads you into the picture.

Hi Tootie! Your photos never cease to amaze me. They're definitely frame-worthy! THANK YOU for once again making me swoon and smile and dream and imagine myself standing there on that shore as the video played. (sigh!) I can never get enough of seeing the beach and hearing those rolling waves.... :)
