Early Evening At Pointe Santo De Sanibel

We had showers off and on, part of the day. This afternoon we went to Pointe Santo de Sanibel to check on some friends' condos. It was pretty quiet there, as school has started and vacation season has ended. The beach was really deserted. This is a perfect time for a visit to Sanibel. There is a much more relaxing atmosphere here now, than during season. Today's high temperature was 90 and the water in the Gulf is 89. The grass was wet from the earlier rain, and this caused the noseeums to be even worse than usual.

There were not a lot of shells.

I think this has to be one of the most interesting things I've found on the beach. A corncob pipe. ???? I have to wonder if it was lost by a melting snowman. :-)

These are the only things I picked up to carry home.
