Sanibel Evening Madness

Around 7:30 we went out the Nerita Street access from Middle Gulf Drive. Usually most people have left the beach by this time of evening, but there were still people in both directions as far as you could see. It seemed that most were families with school age children. I suppose that means the summer vacation madness has begun.

The was still some Manatee Grass left in this area, but basically none near the water. The temperature got up to 92 today, but somehow the Gulf temperature dropped a couple of degrees.

Galveston, too, is experiencing summer madness. Crowds on Seawall Blvd. and hotels rooms are all full. Good news here, though, nine months after Ike!

Nice to have the manatee grass disappearing. In exchange for the summer tourists, though? I'm starting to really appreciate the off season time of year that we come to Sanibel!

Tourists can seem to crowd you, but so many places would not exist without them. It's seems our motorhome tourism is down...darn fuel prices. We depend a lot on the tourism industry so I hope they are at least flying in! 92 degrees sounds delightful. Enjoy!

The water is so calm. I hope it stays that way for our arrival next Friday. I am looking for a nice place to have dinner next Saturday night. There is going to be at least 25 people. What would you recommend? Where would you recommend going to brunch on Sunday?
