Wednesday's Ocean Clouds and Sunrays

Today it was sunny and 80 degrees, and grocery shopping off the island, didn't seem too appealing. But, that's what had to be done. That's right....even in paradise....you have to eat. :-) This trip was actually quite pleasant. It seems like the traffic is not as heavy as it has been for a few months. Some snowbirds must have flown away.

After a nice, late lunch at Cheeseburger In Paradise, it was time to head back over to the 'Happy Lane'. Speaking of that reminds me, there are some new palms already being planted on each side of the causeway toll booths, to replace the ones that were taken out. It's looking much better again.

There were some interesting clouds with rays of light shining through them, to view while crossing the causeway.

Took a run over to West Gulf Drive after putting groceries away. I thought the sun would look pretty going down behind the clouds. I was right, and the waves were pretty and fun to watch too. There were a few small shells left at the high tide line. I put less than 10 in my pocket to carry home.

The videos were taken at resident access 5, off West Gulf Drive, around 6:30 this evening. There were still around 5 foot waves due to yesterday's cold front.

Much better viewed in HD on YouTube, by clicking on screen below.

I love how the rays reach down to the water. There never seems to be many people at the beach when you are there in the evenings. I can't imagine living in Paradise and then sit home on the couch. The waves look cool. Fun to play in on a warm day (for the kids).

Do you have to pay a toll everytime you come back to the island if you live there? My husband and I wondered what they did for residents. And how do they bring the lumber etc on there for the new construction? SOme of the back end of the island looked narrow.

I just love your last photo of the sunset. It sounds as if you had a good day, even if you had to go grocery shopping. I really enjoy watching waves that height come in to shore.

We love Cheeseburger in Paradise. There's one we like to visit here in Atlanta, and it's our little escape from reality. Miss Renee likes the fancy (virgin!) drinks with the umbrellas and funny fruit faces! =)

Those cloudes are amazing. Just gorgeous!
