The pictures and video were taken today at resident access 6 off of West Gulf Dr.The temperature got up to 88 degrees and the Gulf is 77 degrees. The breeze was strong and cool, making it very pleasant. There wasn't much action on the beach; only a few people fishing and sitting in the sun, but nobody was shelling at the time. There were a few shells but none that I had any interest in. Quite a way up near the dunes, there were a few older shell piles, which I'm sure have been searched through many times. Late this evening we had a few drops of rain. We could sure use much more.
Walking out from access 6, onto the beach.
I had to laugh to myself, when I saw this fellow fishing just a few feet from the shore. Normally the water wouldn't even be half way to your knees. There must have been a trench washed out in that area or the man's legs were really short. Made me think of 'Dorf Does Fishing', done Tim Conway style. :-))))

I love that walkway (access 6) to and from the beach.. So pretty...
Sounds like things in Sanibel are fairly normal now... I cannot wait to get to the beach (May 2-10) in NC.
Hugs,
Betsy
Maybe the fisherman just wanted to stay cool! I laughed too.
