Thursday at Blind Pass

There are quite a few friends here visiting from now until the end of next week. This afternoon at Blind Pass on the Captiva side we were all grabbing shells. There were pretty big waves and most of them had been out there all day. For those of you who know Al; he found a junonia. Kim & Gary each found a Lion's Paw. Kim was down in the waves, really working hard at her search. Al was also in the waves. The rest of us stayed on top of the shell pile digging and waiting for the waves to toss more shells on top. We didn't even walk down to the area where the pipes were, so I'm not sure if anyone found shells there today or not. There were a large number of people on the beach all along that area.

I have a photo of the shells that came home. Most of what I found, I gave to tourists who didn't have many. They were happy to take them.

I'm not sure what tomorrow will bring, but I'm sure everyone will be back to take a look.

I also took photos of the work going on, as best I could. The first one was taken as we walked from the parking lot on the Sanibel side of the bridge, so this view is looking toward the bay side.

They were pounding in sections of this wall, not sure how far they are going with it.
