It was a very nice afternoon for the beach. It wasn't windy and the temperature was just right, even if the water was a little chilly at first. After walking in it for a minute, it felt ok.
There were lots of shells rolling in the waves. There weren't a lot of what I call great shells, but once in a while I found something good. I would say that I had two pockets stuffed full when I left the beach. It was lots of fun watching the shells roll back and forth with the waves. The water would clear up enough to see the shells between waves, so if you saw something you wanted, you had to grab fast. :-)
The problem was....I got all involved in trying to see through the water and kept getting splashed. I was pretty well soaked from the waste down. About an hour before the sun went down, it started getting cooler out. At least it seemed like it when you were wearing wet shorts. You'd think a person would learn not to go quite so far in the water, but I'm tellin' ya' folks, when you see shells you forget all about that. Oh well, the fun I had was well worth it.
There were a lot of birds on the beach today.
Mr Bird and his two shadows. :-) He came walking by and then turned around and came back for a while. I guess he was lonely.
You can watch the video below in HD if you go to Youtube by this link. Click on the video to view it, then in the bottom right corner, click where it says view in HD. After doing that, you can also click on a button just above that to open it to play full screen. Then, you are transported to the water's edge. :-)

Beautiful sunset tonight. Thanks for sharing!
Will you be out next weekend when the tide is very low? I hope so,I want to see what the shelling is like :):)Thank you for posting these beautiful Sanibel pics, even if we can't be there I can live through your blogs:)
I love the little birds running from the waves :)
Tootie, if you stuff your pockets full, don't they break? Some of them are so darned fragile it amazes me that ANY of them ever make it to shore in one piece...
These pictures are gorgeous -- as always!
Absolutely beautiful photos! I think I would "get lost" following my nose, too. It really doesn't matter how warm it is, it feels so cold when you are wet and the sun goes down.
Great post! The pictures and videos are WONDERFUL! I am getting soooooo excited to be there next week!!!
