Thursday, June 21 Turtle Walk
There continue to be more and more nests here. The turtles started nesting early and there are already more than there have been before, by this time.

There were no new nests in our zone to discover this day, but a couple of nests on the island have already hatched, so we are looking forward to seeing some baby turtles soon.

Sanibel East-46 nests, 79 false crawls, 0 hatches
Sanibel West- 151 nests. 267 false crawls, 3 hatches
Captiva- 83 nests, 107 false crawls, 1 hatch
As of June 22, 2011:
Sanibel East- 18 nests, 35 false crawls
Sanibel West- 140 nests, 192 false crawls
Captiva- 49 nests, 30 false crawls
As of June 22, 2010:
Sanibel East- 6 nests, 25 false crawls
Sanibel West- 60 nests, 136 false crawls
Captiva- 25 nests, 63 false crawls

Good to know your nests are doing well. I've heard most of central Florida has lost their turtle nests due to the storms.
