We've just gone through a busy season. This week seems like it isn't quite as crowded. The weather has been perfect. That has given us a little time to do some deck repair. We've had warm to hot sun and a very pleasant cool breeze.
This evening we made a drive over the causeway to Gulf Coast Town Center and a stop at Miller's Ale House for dinner. Tonight is the largest Super Moon of 2019, or so I've read. This is the closest it will be to us this year.
We drove to the East end of the island to take a few pictures from Light House Beach. There were a lot of people there standing around and also walking on the beach.
I apologize for the picture quality, taken with my cell phone, but better than none at all. BEST DAYS FOR A WHILE!
Our weather this past week has been wonderful, in the low to mid 80's during the day and a little cooler at night.
We have been off and back to the island several times during the week and have seen some beautiful clouds, which as you know, always catch my attention and also have noticed how many people have been enjoying the day on the Causeway Tootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-72484801232595622052019-01-28T20:15:00.000-05:002019-01-28T20:23:22.520-05:00Love This View
Just because some of you love this view as much as I do. And today was another chilly one. Just couldn't drag myself to the beach.

Early this morning we had to take her to the airport in pouring rain. It rained all the way there and back. It was also pretty cool today, in the 50's again.
Took a few photos on the way back. Most driveways were full of water when we got back.

Temps in the 50's here today and a little rain off and on. It quit for a while and we decided to check the beach to see if there were any shells. By the time we walked out Resident Beach Access #2, it had started raining again. Luckily I had an umbrella, so we continued on. There were only a couple people in either direction.
At first I only saw a lot of Tootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-32114787115206621552019-01-25T12:02:00.001-05:002019-01-25T12:03:20.151-05:00Strange Clouds Today
If you remember how I love clouds, you will know that I see all kinds of strange things in them now and then.
What do you see in these last two.
Perhaps a creature tipped to one side?
I absolutely LOVE our clouds!

I was looking through some old documents I had saved from Blogger and Trip Advisor, when I ran across all the kind and caring comments that many of my blog watchers had left for me regarding my Daughter's passing. It brought tears to my eyes, to be reminded people cared and were showing so much sympathy Tootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-23001419427031155952013-08-16T21:47:00.002-04:002013-08-16T21:49:28.110-04:00Florida's Summer Heat Brings Beautiful Clouds
The last couple of weeks have been a little on the hot side for me, but I'll take it! The Florida heat and humidity bring amazing clouds! This evening was just perfect, with clouds, a cooling wind and the rising moon. What more could you ask for?
The view from our decks this evening.
The critters kept us entertained today. However, you can tell Tootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-6813996663537581482013-08-07T23:32:00.002-04:002013-08-08T00:12:33.454-04:00Hello Everyone!
I thought I would make an attempt at catching up a little. We have had visitors coming and going constantly and other things going on, plus a few health issues mixed in. The island has still remained very busy, even after the normal season was over. I've heard that the amount of tourists is expected to drop off a little due to school starting again. EVERYONE!
Yes, I'm still alive. :)
Thanks to all of you who sent emails, comments, etc.
I've just been resting up from all the holiday preparations and then guests for Thanksgiving; more preparing and visitors for 3 weeks during Christmas and New Year's Eve.
It was a wonderful time!
After the holidays I was busy Tootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-3272983096482084012012-09-29T14:15:00.000-04:002012-09-29T14:15:18.532-04:00Shore Haven, House Boat or Mobile Home?
After floating on the water, like a huge house boat yesterday, Shore Haven is waiting for the next leg of it's journey, on Tuesday.
This is Shore Haven's destination.
The Caretaker's Cottage awaits.
I'm happy to know that I was not the only person who thought moving the Shore Haven house was interesting. Saw it on Channel 2 News last night and today
there is a Tootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-5543973447151644232012-09-28T13:39:00.000-04:002012-09-28T13:39:15.662-04:00A Sanibel House on the Move!
I was out this morning with Puffin for a trip to Sanibel Coral Veterinary Clinic.
By the way, we LOVE these people. :)
On the way home I started thinking about the Shore Haven House again and wondered if they had moved it this morning. Instead of making my usual right turn :), I went straight up to the end of Dixie Beach Rd, when I got to the end, where it reaches the BayTootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-36039579308201778152012-09-28T00:41:00.000-04:002012-09-28T00:53:12.273-04:00New Boats and a Historical Sanibel House
The weather has been very nice, still getting rain now and then, the nights have cooled off just a little and, (it may be my imagination), I think there's a feel of Fall in the air.
Today, late afternoon, we went for a drive over to the Marriott Sanibel Harbor Marina to see how many boats had arrived there for a Regal International Dealer Conference. Wednesday was a beautiful day for boating.
The water was calm and the clouds beautiful!
All of a sudden I heard a loud splash, looked around to see
a big smile from a dolphin. :)
That dolphin fun made our day on the water complete.
Yesterday evening we went to the Lighthouse Beach. August 30 was our 18th walk of this season and probably the last. We only have to check on the few remaining nests, which were all washed over in our zone when Tropical Storm Isaac passed by. But we'll hold onto hope that there could still be a hatch,
until the nests are past the due dates and are dug.
What a rough season for the sea turtles!

On Tuesday evening, the 28th, I took a quick look at the Pointe Santo beach. There were a scattering of shells there, at the high tide line, but not any near the water.
We had plans to meet a friend at West Gulf Resident Access 6. We were hoping to find a lot of shells again at low tide.
There were a lot of shells that had been left at the high Tootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-88274446120232689302012-08-28T01:41:00.000-04:002012-08-28T01:59:00.082-04:00Relief After Isaac Decides Not To Visit
For two days we prepared for a visit from Tropical Storm Isaac. He was making tracks straight for us. State of Emergency and Mandatory Evacuation was being talked about. We decided we were not leaving so everything we thought might be needed was taken care of. I cleaned out the refrigerator and freezer because it was almost certain we would loose power. We had our preparations for the coming Tropical Storm Isaac done, so decided to take a drive. After stopping at the Sanibel Cafe to eat, we drove on to Blind Pass.
Only saw 2 people on Captiva side of the pass.
There were people walking the sand bars
on the Sanibel side of the pass.
It started raining a little harder, so after looking through some Tootiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07924498498731536039noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5796603205615633080.post-51203218533119626852012-08-24T14:34:00.000-04:002012-08-24T14:34:22.220-04:00Turtle Walks 16 and 17
Turtle walk 16 was on August 16.
It was raining for a while before we left the house and this is what the weather map looked like, at that time. Our zone was covered by the green and yellow areas. We went out anyway, hoping that the rain would at least be light enough to make the walk, with the use of an umbrella. We've been having a great time this summer with visitors and I'll catch you up on that in a later post.
This post is to catch up on the last two turtle walks.
Walk 14 of this season was on August 2nd.
Sooo happy to see police officers
doing something about this problem. :)

Thursday, July 26 was turtle walk 13. It seems the nesting season may be slowing down now, but there have been a few false crawls and there are still nests to hatch.
There is a leash and a lady was being led by this dog.
Lots of trash on the beach in front of CasaYbel.
I think some little girl will be unhappy
if she doesn't find her fishing pole. :(

It's been a while, so thought I would catch up with what has been going on in our lives lately.
After the Fourth of July excitement was over two of the Grands, Grant and Amanda arrived for a visit.
Being the rainy season here, you know you are going to see a lot of cloudy photos!

Thursday, July 19 was our 12th walk of the season. Gary and Amanda (visiting Grand daughter), started out with high hopes that Amanda would get to see a turtle crawl, up close and personal. :)
Having had rain over night, it was warm and humid. A very hazy sky, partially hiding the sunrise.
