The weather has been very nice, still getting rain now and then, the nights have cooled off just a little and, (it may be my imagination), I think there's a feel of Fall in the air.
Today, late afternoon, we went for a drive over to the Marriott Sanibel Harbor Marina to see how many boats had arrived there for a Regal International Dealer Conference. The whole marina has been vacated to accommodate the new Regal Boats for this event.
We were out on the water yesterday and it was so pleasant. The water has been very smooth with hardly any waves at all for several days now.
We walked around the docks looking at boats for a while and then stopped in at Charley's Cabana Bar for a nice tropical drink.
That was when I noticed this big camel shaped cloud. :)
I was (of course) looking at the beautiful clouds
on the way back across the Sanibel Causeway.
And that.......is when I noticed a house that looked like it was moving into the water. That's right! Wondering what was happening, we drove by there on our way home.
When we reached that street, we ran into a couple of nuts sitting in the middle of the road. :)
When we saw the name of the street, we began putting two and two together. We had read an article on the Sanibel-Captiva Islander about the possibility of moving a historical house, called
Shore Haven, to the grounds of Sanibel Island's
And....there it was!
Shore Haven was no longer on the shore, it was sitting on a barge.
We received a notice from the City of Sanibel that there will be temporary power interruptions, in certain areas, from 10 p.m., Tuesday, October 2nd, through 4 a.m., Wednesday, October 3rd, to accommodate the structural relocation of a
historical property known as Shore Haven, from Bird Lane to the Sanibel
Historical Museum and Village, located at 950 Dunlop Road. To facilitate the
this move, it is necessary for LCEC to temporarily disconnect power lines along
the moving route.
It will be interesting to see how this move will be done.

Do you know what's historical about that house? It looks relatively new compared to the other houses in the village.
