Afternoon on Sanibel Island

It was a beautiful afternoon at
Pointe Santo de Sanibel yesterday.

Everything on the island is pretty and green, due to all the rain we've had recently.

There were some small shells, the birds seemed to have plenty of time to pick through them, even if I didn't. :)

Later that evening, we drove out to the Sanibel Causeway to watch the sunset.

Sanibel Clouds, Rain & Sunsets

Here on Sanibel Island, we've had some beautiful clouds and plenty of rain, lately.  I'm certainly not complaining.  The trees and flowers are flourishing.  You can see the beginnings of a canopy over Periwinkle Way, in quite a few places.  It's a pleasant sight, to see the change that is finally becoming more and more obvious since Hurricane Charley,  7 years ago.

Driving around the island, it's nice to see how the hundreds of trees planted after that hurricane are thriving.

A sampling of some of the interesting
clouds we've had during the past week.

After crossing the Sanibel Causeway,

We soon caught up with rain.

A few days later we were, once again, on our way to Ft Myers and ran into rain when we reached the Sanibel Causeway.

I am getting a little tired of rain,
but I know we need it.
And, in between showers,
you get to watch the birds
strolling around, aerating lawns.
This is the 'natural' island way,
to have a healthy lawn. :)

The nights are gradually getting cooler and the day temperatures are also a few degrees less than those we experienced the last few months.

And as for a puppy update; he is now watching and learning how to play pool. :)
He thinks 'Life Is Good'!

Sanibel and a Pink and Blue Sky

Our evening was breezy and cool, a perfect time to watch a sunset.
As we crossed the first section of the Sanibel Causeway,  the clouds on the south side were amazing!

As I looked up to see a plane flying over,
I could imagine how beautiful their view
must have been.

We just missed the sun.  But, the afterglow
was awesome!

Sanibel Thursday

Most of our day was sunny and 86 degrees.  The temperature didn't feel hot at all because there was a strong breeze.

Here's a quick view of the sky as we drove over the Sanibel Causeway about 3:00 this afternoon.

There were some huge clouds hanging over the area in Ft Myers, that we were going to.  Luckily we didn't get into any rain there.

On the way back sunrays and clouds
kept me entertained. :)

About a half mile before we reached the
Sanibel Causeway,we ran into heavy rain.

By the time we reached the toll booth, it was over!

This makes it look like the rain
was coming down on the island,
but we didn't get any at our house.
I have to say, I've had enough rain for a while.
