Perfect Sanibel Weather

I want to thank all of you for your kind comments, they were all taken to heart, and helped more than I can say. :)

Our weather lately has been wonderfully sunny and warm.  The high temperature today was 77 degrees.  I appreciate that, each and every day, but hearing from family who has just gotten more snow, makes me think about it even more.

I think all of you, who live up north, deserve a tropical island getaway.  If I had it in my power, I would bring each of you here for a dose of sunshine.  It's for sure, you have earned it this winter.

The island is full of visitors doing just that.  The streets are clogged with traffic and beaches are loaded with bright colored umbrellas and sun worshipers.

This afternoon, I went to Pointe Santo, the parking areas were all full of cars, so I think it's safe to say that season is definitely in full swing!  I was surprised by the beach erosion that changed the look of the beach since I was there.

There was a lot of action going on, as I walked out onto the beach.  The area to the west was loaded with people at the Tarpon Bay public beach access.

The tidal pool was making these two little ones pretty happy.

A Pen Shell stingray.

A little glimpse of how beautiful the water has been lately.
This is how it looked yesterday afternoon when we drove over the Sanibel Causeway.

This little guy is still keeping me busy and entertained at the same time.

Sure is growing! :)

Sad Time

For quite a number of days now, I have been gradually feeling more depressed, thinking of the approaching first anniversary of my daughters passing, which is today.  I layed awake last night thinking about her and this morning I realized that I was dwelling on thoughts of her struggle for years with cancer and of the helplessness and sadness I felt as I watched her slip away.  She was such a strong and brave person, where I on the other hand tend to run away or hide from hurtful things.
I have to change my train of thought to the wonderful memories I have of her before cancer changed our lives.  There are so many and I'm hoping that will brighten my day.  I can actually hear her voice saying, "Come on!  Get over it already Mom!"  Her sense of humor was unending and that is only one of the things I will never forget.  And I will never get over it!

Sanibel Evening

Yesterday (Monday), was another perfect, warm day.  Since there was a cold front approaching, I decided to take a quick walk on the beach at Middle Gulf Drive, Fulgar Street beach access.

Sanibel Warm & Beautiful

We had a warm and beautiful day.  It was sunny and 83 degrees. :)  I know you northerners don't want to hear this, but it was enough to make you sweat.   I'm not complaining, I really enjoyed it.

Early this evening we went to resident access 1 on west Gulf Drive.  There was a cool breeze that made a pleasure to be out.  There were also a lot of shells  to look at.  I only picked up a handful, but could have easily found more to my liking.  I just don't like to keep Puffin hanging around on the beach too long. :)
