A Sanibel Weekend

Saturday, after watching the weather channel for hours, and watching folks preparing for hurricane weather, I felt guilty when we went out
to such a gorgeous day.

We went for a drive to Captiva late this afternoon and made a stop at Blind Pass to see if there was good shelling.  There didn't seem to be much of anything coming in, since the beach was bare sand.  There was one small area near the rock jetty where there were some shells.  But, I think that had been there for quite a while.

Early this evening a friend went with us to take a walk on the beach at Pointe Santo.  She worked at shelling for a while, walking in the water and using her shell net, but had no luck.  I didn't see anything I wanted to pick up either, but it was a relaxing and enjoyable time anyway.

You can probably read my thoughts here.....

They also left an assortment of cigarette butts and plastic behind.

It was nice walking the beach feeling the cool breeze and watching the sky turn colors as the sun went down.

SunDAY is over.
