Sanibel Pups & Bees

This morning when I took Puffin out, we went down the stairs, he jumped into the grass and then let out a loud yelp and jumped back out again.  I saw a bee fly away from that spot so I think he got stung.  I tried to look at it and he kept jerking his paw away, growling.  My Mother always told me to use a paste of baking soda and water, put meat tenderizer on it or soak a bee sting  in an Epsom salt bath.

I didn't have any Epsom salt and he didn't want to have his paw touched, so I did the next best thing.  We went to the beach and I let him walk in the salt water.  I think the little guy was fine after that. :)  Except, his tongue was hanging out after a little while.

We went to Gulfside City Park.

There were a lot of small shells, but with puppy along, I didn't get to look through them.  I'll have to say, it was fun walking along in the warm water anyway.

Oh- Poor baby! I know you just feel so helpless when they get hurt like that. Great idea for the salt water though! He is so darned cute, Tootie! Hugs-Diana

Oh, poor lil' fella. I'm glad the walk on the beach made his paw feel better. I know the sea air and salt water do wonders for me!

I'm sure he had fun even though he got tuckered out. Hope his paw is better fast.

Poor little Puffin! We once had a dog get attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets. It was awful! We had to take him to the vet. This same dog (Henry, the pug) once ate a needle and thread. . . Had to go to the vet then, also.

That's great that Puffin got to go to the beach for therapy. Do all the beaches allow dogs? Just seems like they wouldn't as all pet owners aren't as responsible as you.

I want to just squeeze Puffin - he is so cute!! Hope his paw is ok now. Nothing like a little sanibel beach time to take away the pain.
