Missing My Sanibel Visitors

Last week was a great one, with a visit from family on Spring Break vacation.  The weather was wonderful, warm and low humidity.  We had a lot of fun.

My Grandson and his friend rented a scout coup to run around in.  Needless to say, they had a blast!

They stopped by the house one afternoon and Rosalita wanted to go for a spin.

Then Puffin wanted a turn, but I had a little trouble getting him to put on the seat belt.

We celebrated Amanda's 17th birthday while they were here.  We decorated with a Flip Flop theme.

Have you guessed that pink is her favorite color?

Sadly, the day came when they had to leave. :(

There have been so many sailboats around lately, making the view from the Sanibel Causeway a beautiful one.

One Grand had bronchitis when she came and left it behind with us.  With that and family withdrawl, we were feeling pretty rough.  Today we finally started to feel a little better.  So, while out making a stop at Bailey's, we drove on over to West Gulf Access 5.

As we walked out the path, i noticed there is work going beside it.  Looks like a new home may be coming soon.

While I was busy preparing for our Spring Breakers, I totally missed the opportunity to meet to very special ladies I met on the internet.  I didn't realize it until I read a post from one of them about their return from Sanibel.  It still makes me sad and I thought of them today as I looked toward the beach where they spent their days here.

It is so good to spend time with family. I live in the north to be close to mine, but sometimes I think that you have more intense quality time with yours by living in Paradise! I'm glad you are feeling better.

Hi Tootie! Good to see you posting. I have missed you. Sounds like you had a good time with the kids. I have followed your fun times on Gary's facebook postings. Too bad you don't feel well. I hope you are soon better.

I haven't started planning our next visit. We do it the same every time (same flight, same rental car, same condo, etc.) so mostly I just need to decide how long we can stay this time. . .

How fun, a flip flop party. My favorite color still is pink. I am glad you are feeling better. We should never be sick in Florida; it is too warm! I, myself, am counting the days for my Sanibel vacation!! Even though I am here on the East Coast, I love the Gulf. I think it is because I am so adverse to cold (even 85 degrees is cold to me), and I love the saltiness of the Gulf water. I hope there are some lightening welks and maybe an alphabet shell for me to find! Enjoy feeling better!
