A Rainy Sanibel Day

I woke up this morning to loud thunder and a downpour of rain, that lasted all morning and kept raining most of the afternoon too. We had around an inch and a half of rain. All the cloud cover and some wind, kept the temperature down a little today, with 82 degrees as the high and 73 the low.

I thought it would eventually quit raining, but it didn't. When it let up a little we drove over to West Gulf Drive and I walked out resident access path 2. I hid under my umbrella until the wind flipped it wrong side out. After I got it straightened out, I just turned around and went back the way I came. LOL There were really no shells to look through anyway.

These pictures are a little misleading, they look more like the beach during winter.

There was only one couple with 3 children, that I could see on the beach, and they followed me back out the path. Right after the lady told me that it was a bad day for umbrellas. Ha,ha!

Hi Tootie,
We had a sloppy day up here in Venice. I got off the beach last night just a the rain ushered in the sunset and it never stopped till this afternoon. Now the frogs are deafening outside my window which is why I am blogging. The dern things are sooo loud I can't sleep :)

Your beach looks good even on a rainy day. I'm sorry to hear about your umbrella.

Tootie, does Sanibel still need rain?

Looks like ya'll have been getting your fair share of rain. Every day I look at the weather, I see rain down your way.

I hope the weather turns and cools down a bit before we come down. I don't mind the rain, but we could use a break from the heat. Still cracking 109 here and the AC went out at DD's school yesterday. VERY hot!!

Hello,
Thanks so much for stopping by. I've been to Sanibel and truly did not want to ever leave! My shells from the trip are very coveted.

You must love the beach to go walking in the rain Tootie? I love the ocean too, 'cept I live in an inland town and don't get to the sea as much as I would like. Lucky you! :-) - Dave
