A Livin' the Dream Day

We have a new restaurant on Sanibel Island, called the Sea Star Cafe & Bar. It has been open for a couple weeks and we had been anxious to try it. Tonight we joined a friend to have dinner there. It is in the Old Ellington's location, 937 East Gulf Drive, at the Sanibel Inn. I love the decor and atmosphere, our food was excellent and the service was the BEST! I highly recommend this place. Menu

Shrimp

Lobster Tail

Cheesecake

Bread Pudding

As we were driving back from dinner, we noticed the sky was changing color as the sun was going down. We drove over the first bridge of the causeway, hoping the see the sunset. The sun had just gone down, but the sky couldn't have been prettier. What a finale!

Paradise is a place where you feel content and are filled with peace and happiness. It's a place where you can see what you want to see and do what you want to do.

I can see beautiful blue water sparkling, by a white sand beach and a magnificent sky in shades of reds and blues. I feel so blessed and happy to be living in this Sanibel paradise!

As a food service gal for 20 years I would have to say the presentation is wonderful (although by my girth you would know I am a quantity not quality kind of gal). Looks like a wonderful find for a nice evening out.

Debbie and I will have to give the new restaurant a try on our next visit.

The sunset pictures are beautiful. As a photographer they say to wait 20-30 minutes after the sun goes down. Often, that is the prettiest light and sky.

I'm glad to hear you don't take living on Sanibel for granted. I would love to be able to live there too.

Great sunset. Yes, I would call that paradise! As for the new restaurant, I'm with Gayle. Presentation is fabulous, and you mentioned that the food & service was excellent. Sounds great. And look at that cheesecake! It's enormous!!

Super looking restaurant! I especially love your comments about being in paradise. I feel the exact same way about my little island that lies just beyond the causeway. I am so blessed to be so close to such a wonderful spot. Hugs, Beth

Thank you for sharing "paradise" with us. We were there in July--our4th trip. Love everything. Wish your new restaurant would have been open. Looks wonderful. Our best find, food-wise was The Timbers. We counted 8 turtle nests at WestWind Inn beach.
