Storm Cloud Saturday

It wasn't quite as hot today as it has been; at 88 degrees and windy. It was a pretty nice day for those who watched the 4th of July parade, on the 3rd. :) There was a very good turn out for the road rally this year. We were at the Sanibel Grill when all the participants returned. Everyone said they had a great time.

This evening the clouds looked so interesting that we drove to one of the causeway islands to take a better look at what was coming. We saw some pretty threatening clouds, that were actually beautiful and the wind was very strong there. Most people that were still there, fishing etc, were packing up their things and leaving. After we took some pictures, it started sprinkling rain so we left, by the time we got home, it quit. A little later, we got a light rain for a few minutes and that was all. The east end of the island only got 0.14". Just watching the clouds, I think parts of Sanibel and Captiva should have had heavy rain.

Can't believe there wasn't a huge downpour out of those clouds! (Why are people celebrating the 4th on the 3rd? A few towns did that here, too. I always thought the 4th was the 4th LOL).

Four miles inland we actually saw the sun at 5:00 p.m. Within 30 minutes we had such a downpour and heavy winds it looked like a hurricane outside our lanai for awhile.

Looks like the rain this morning may wash out our 4th plans and tomorrow morning we have to fly back to reality.

You are so blessed to live everyday in paradise.

Hi There, Just stopping by to say HELLO and see how you are doing down there in FL....

Love your pictures. Those clouds looked very threatening.. We are desperate for rain up here. Guess we'll be outside watering the yard this week.

Have a fabulous 4th of July!!!
