Tuesday Sanibel Sunset

The sea turtle nesting season is about to begin. The volunteers had a Preseason Meeting this evening at the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation.

After the meeting we drove out to the causeway and stopped on Spoil Island A to watch the sunset. It was a little cloudy near the horizon, but it was still pretty. The temperature reached 79 today, the wind was getting a little chilly as the sun was setting.

I look forward to your turtle walks. Do you know yet which day you will walk?

Oh Tootie, I'm so excited! Tomorrow night is Gulf Islands National Seashore pre-season meeting (Pensacola Beach and GINS areas). They will let us know when we begin our patrols, but it should be in a couple of weeks. I can't wait!!!!

Now that I found your blogs (through your visits to mine!), I will be following your turtle patrols this year!

Good luck!

Thank you for the beautiful sunset, Tootie! I'll be there during the full moon in May and can't wait to see crawl tracks in the wee morning hours. :) I hope mama Leatherback returns this season.

The green and blue building with the white circles looks like the place Becky photographed a wheelbarrow filled with Coconut Postcards...on Matlacha. I painted that photo just yesterday...
