Thursday On Sanibel

Our low temperature last night was 64. Today it didn't warm up as much because it was cloudy most of the day, the high was 69 and it seemed warm. The water was pretty rough today due to the SSE wind with gusts up to 22 mph. With the humidity at 93% we didn't need rain.

This afternoon we went to Ft Myers and near the toll booths, I could see a lot of wind surfers and kite boarders making great use of the wind. They were still there on our return trip.

Early this evening we went to West Gulf Drive, resident access 3. There were shells left at the high tide lines, but nothing new coming in. It was very windy, so it was more comfortable with a sweatshirt on. It sprinkled rain for a few minutes, but stopped before we got all the way back out to the street.

Walking back out the path, I noticed there was some activity going on at Casa Yucca, a beautiful Old World Mediterranean style estate. The ground level, screened lanais stretch across the backside of the home and overlook the Gulf. There were cloth clad tables set up throughout that area with beautiful flower arrangements on each one. Perhaps a wedding celebration? It would certainly be a picture perfect place for it.
