Quick Sanibel Beach Visit

The low last night was 58 and the high today 76. We went to the Blue Dolphin Cottages this evening to take some shell nets to visiting friends from NH. This is next to resident access 7 on west Gulf Drive.

The property is so well groomed there, and it is a clean and cozy place to stay with the 'Old Florida' atmosphere.

It was getting a little cool out, by the time we walked out to the beach, so we didn't stay long. Shelling didn't seem very promising either. The water was so calm, hardly any waves. The sky was very hazy looking, and I wondered if that is a warning of coming thunderstorms. While we were there, a big shark went cruising by, looking for his dinner.

More on the crocodile.

I wish you could send some of your 'cool' weather up this way. We've got several inches of snow and ice and aren't going anywhere. Some 'old Florida' sounds great to me.

Hey Tootie, Looks like alot of good things are going on in Sanibel now. It's the 'season' --with the Snowbirds around, isn't it????

I'd love to walk on the beach now --since it's supposed to go down to 9 degrees tonight... Brrrrrr... We have 5-6 inches of snow and ICE on the ground here... Snow is nice, but ice is not!!!

Thanks once again for the wonderful pics, Tootie! :-)) That is my favorite place to stay on the island and I'll be back there in May for the full moon-woot! Do you ever visit Dixie Beach Blvd beach? I find it so peaceful there. I love discovering all the super sekrit places on Sanibel!;-D

Hi Tootie! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! As you probably noticed, it's mostly about embroidery and about my family and me.

I think that I met a couple from New Hampshire when I was sitting in a beach chair at Mitchells. I wonder if they were your friends? If you want to drop me an email, I'll tell you more.

Yes, Mitchell's was quite nice and Joel and his wife were wonderful hosts. Our cabin was like new on the inside and I loved the "old Florida" feel, as you said it.
