Out And About The Island Cow

Yesterday evening, we went out for an early dinner with friends who had just arrived on the island for their yearly, two month stay. We met at the Island Cow, which I have to tell you, isn't my favorite place to eat. It's too touristy for me. But the service we had was great.

If you get to Sanibel, you may want to check it out. Kids especially love it! :-) They give large servings, which usually provide an extra lunch for the next day. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

I'm certainly not a knowledgable bird person, but I believe the visitor on the back deck this evening, was a red-shouldered hawk. He seemed to be on lizard lookout.

What a beautiful bird! Great photos!
I snatched an idea for my dollhouse from the shutters and welcome sign pic too. :)
Hope you have a great weekend! Wish I was there!

Fantastic shot of the hawk, Tootie!! I gotta say that actually all of the island restaurants, with maybe the exception of Sanibel Cafe, The Mucky Duck and the old Timmy's Nook are "touristy". That's a big part of making Sanibel and Captiva so very special. I love enjoying a fabulous meal in island style surroundings, whether they're colorful and wacky or subtle and sophisticated.
