An Iguana on a Beautiful Sanibel Day

Today was a beautiful Sanibel day. While I was out running errands, I saw a large
iguana. It was standing beside the street, eating something. It stood quite still for this quick photo shoot, and then walked away and into the mangroves. It was over 4 foot, the first time I've seen one that long. I think we can live in the same area as long as he stays on his side of the street. :-) It should be happy that it's brown and not a Green Iguana or Nile Monitor Lizard, because hundreds of those have been removed from the island in the past few years, because they are an invasive species.

I am going to be away for a few days, but should be blogging again on Monday. I hope all of you have a great weekend!

That think is huge. I wouldn't want to run into it while on a walk! I'm catching up...sorry you weren't/aren't feeling good. I ache from head-to-toe as well, but am dealing with it pretty good. I just will my mind to ignore the pain. What else can we do? I hope you are feeling better soon.

WOW! He is big! Samantha would have had a major COW if we had seen one of those while we were there!! I would probably never get her down the beach access trail again!!

We have a green one that roams around the Park. I had to get out of the car and shoo him out of the street the other day!
