Sanibel's Sunshine and Rain

Today was a mixture of sunshine and rain. The low temperature was 75 and the high, 92 with an east wind, making it seem a little cooler. This afternoon the clouds looked pretty threatening at times. While driving from one side of the island to the other, you could pass under clouds that rain was pouring from and a minute later the rain was gone.

Late this evening, someone I know had to make an overseas fast food run. Sometimes you just gotta do it. On the way across the Sanibel Causeway, the clouds had scattered and blue sky was showing. There were some big white clouds that appeared to moving toward the island.

On the way back across the causeway, there were dark clouds moving over Sanibel again, and further north. While stopping on a causeway island for a while, we could see lightning in the clouds. After a while, the clouds opened up a little and the sunshine was able to peek through. The total rain on the east end of the island today was around 2/3 of an inch, with more possible tonight and tomorrow. It just doesn't matter if it's sunny or cloudy, it's always beautiful here.

Looking northwest from causeway spoil island B.

In a short period of time, the sky was changing because of cloud movement and the sun going down.
