Sanibel Spring Break Wednesday

My visiting family enjoyed sleeping a little late this morning, since we were up until after mid-night playing pool last night, which was great fun!

The rest of the day, they spent on the beach, relaxing under the umbrella and looking for shells as they walked. They were surprised to see even more people on the beach today, than yesterday.

We planned to meet at Matzaluna around 5:00 for dinner, in order to beat the crowd. The kids got stuck in traffic for 20 minutes, so we didn't get inside until 5:25. But it still worked out fine, a lot of people were waiting outside as we left. We each enjoyed our choices from the menu. Three of us had Chicken Parmesan, one had Four Cheese Chicken, another had Lasagna and the sixth person had Shrimp Pizza. All were very good. Three of us even indulged in a desert.

We planned to drive over to the beach on West Gulf Drive after we ate, but all of us had to go get a sweatshirt first because it was pretty chilly out. By the time we got to beach access 5, I could tell we had to hurry in order to see the sunset. Just as we got near the end of the path, a man coming toward us, said that we just missed the sunset. :-(

So....this is the first peek I had....still beautiful! :-)

We checked out the shells as we walked a little way in each direction. I didn't see anything too special there, but there are plenty of shells. It's just a matter of being there at the right time to find something special.

I also played around taking some photos of silhouettes.

Then it started getting dark and we needed to leave while we could still find the access sign. I have stayed around too long before and had a hard time finding the path. But, that's another whole story. :-)

There was a little mischief going on at this point, like a couple people went ahead and hid on each side of the path and as the two grand kids came walking up the path, they jumped out and scared the bejeebers out of them. Hee, hee! But, I'm not naming names.

The end of another wonderful day in paradise.

Mmmm, that four-cheesey thing sounds wonderful! Can you believe it, I've yet to try Mazaluna! Seems like it comes up in conversation a bit, but then something else gets favored over it, so I've yet to get there. Ah well, I'll put it on my bucket list!

You got some nice pictures in the evening even if you did miss the sunset. Who would try to scare a couple of kids by jumping out at them in the dark?
