Sunny Sanibel Saturday

The low temp last night was 61 and the high today, 81. The sun, sand and sea were calling me to the beach, but the wind tied my hair in knots! :-) I'm pretty sure I looked like a mess while I was there, because I scared myself when I got back and passed a mirror. I walked quite a distance, before turning around to go back. Then I got a phone call from daughter #2, who always gets envious when she can hear waves splashing in the background. I listened to all the details of a big project (about 45 minutes) that her two children are involved in, which makes me a very proud grand mother. I may have to share that here, one day soon. Anyway, I totally lost track of time while talking and picking up jingles and kitten paws, and watching Sanderlings scamper back and forth. I did take a few photos and a video. One photo is of a cute mermaid sand sculpture I saw as I left the beach at access 7. It was another peaceful and beautiful day in paradise.

Hi Tootie, Sounds like a perfect day in paradise (except for your winds)... We had a nice day although it started in the 30's this morning. It's supposed to warm up tomorrow. I HOPE!!!!

You mentioned one of your daughters.. Made me wonder about your daughter with cancer. How is she doing? That is such a horrible disease.

Have a great Sunday.
Hugs,
Betsy

I just love how you appreciate your paradise every day. I often wonder if, when I move to the beach, I will love it then as much as I do now!

Jacque, I always wondered the same thing, and I can tell you that the answer is yes!

When I read "low of 61 and high of 81" I had to walk away from the computer. I don't want to be green with envy, but I really, really am. It has been so windy and that makes it so cold. Hubby and I would move in a heart beat, but with kid sharing we can't. I am so tired of the cold. I am so glad you are enjoying paradise and I get to live it through you.

I found you, Tootie! And we always stay at the West Wind Inn...for 20 years now. We were there when you were hanging out at the bar with your friends for happy hour. Next year we'll have to meet up, yes?

If the two grandchildren you mention are the ones in T.H. I think you should definitely talk about them. You have every reason to be so proud of them. There have been many articles in the paper about them.

June, I was just thinking about you a few days ago, when driving past Hurricane House, and wondering if you were coming this winter. Glad you are found. :-)Yes June, those are the two grandkids that I was talking about.

Metilton, it's a small world afterall. :-) So, now you know about that hair style thing. Yes, let me know when you come and we'll make that a meeting place. :-)

I don't know how you stand the boring weather on your island -- low of 61°. We're delighted when the high reaches that!
