Sad Sanibel Sunday

Today was another 72 degree, sunny day. There were six of us who met at Biddles Bucket for a crawl. A friend was here visiting from West Virginia this week and she has to leave in the morning. :-( She was soaking up all the tropical drinks and warm sunshine that she could. Some of us had appetizers at Biddles, next stop was West Wind Pool Bar, where we shared a pizza. After spending a little time on the beach, we went to McT's to get our favorite tropical drink, the Yellow Bird. We said goodbye to a few friends. While driving our W VA friend to get her car, we decided to go to the Sanibel Grill for some Clam Chowder before going home. She said that was the one thing she hadn't done while she was here this week. When we got there, we ran into a couple of other people we knew, so we visited with them while waiting for a table. Then we decided to share a table together and had a very nice time. Ms West VA spent some time while we were waiting to watch between the trees, as the sun went down. She was so sad that she has to leave tomorrow, and we are sad that she has to go. We had New England and Manhattan Clam Chowder. It was good as always. To finish off, we had the coconut cake that is sooo good!

It was a fun day. I'm sure our W.Va.(by god) friend will make it home just fine--IF there are enough Bloody Mary's on the plane. LOL.

Oh my!! What will I do when I have to leave again? Not sure I can live up to the pressure! Of course, with my hubby and DD, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to join the "crawlers"... But I might be up for an early morning, before daylight, trek to Blind Pass, or some other such place, depending on shelling reports and weather in October... It sounds like great fun was had by all.

It's hard when you have fun with friends and then you have to say goodbye. But the food and drink looks great.
