Wispy Wednesday

Arriving at the beach, the first thing I noticed was how pretty the sky looked. There were wispy white clouds stretched across the blue sky. I wondered if that was the warning of a cold front that is supposed to be coming. That seems strange because it was 83 degrees out, but there was a cool wind near the water, that made it feel a little chilly. There was some pretty good wave action going on this afternoon. But, they were coming from the southeast, which according to those 'in the know', doesn't make for the best shelling on the west gulf beach. There were a lot of shells there, enough that you could sort through them and find many good ones. There were not many footprints next to the shells at the tide line, so they hadn't been picked over much at all. I only picked up a small amount to add to the wicker trunk collection.

I'm hopeful there will be some stellar shelling in the next few days, because there is a full moon and the tide charts show an extra low tide in the early mornings. The only problem I forsee is a high surf advisory that is in effect from 10 am Thursday to 10 PM Friday. I'm wondering if that is going to bring lots of sand in with it and cover the shells so they can't be seen. We'll just have to wait and see.

I showed the video to my 2 year old and he kept saying "cars" to the sound of the surf. I couldn't convince him it was water! Very pretty shells.
