Warm Wednesday

Today was another warm one, in the low 80's. There were big fluffy clouds floating around and now and then the sun was hidden for a little while. It is really hard to imagine people are slipping around on snow and ice in other parts of the country.

Went overseas for groceries today. The water was calm and there were some fishing boats out. I could see lots of sailboats over in the Ft Myers Beach area. People were scattered along the shoreline of both islands fishing and picnicking.

I thought I would try to bring a little warm Christmas Cheer to those of you that are freezing now. I've posted photos of my simple, little Christmas trees. They make me smile every time at look at them. :-)

If you come to the island, you should stop by the Publix store on the left, just before you get to the causeway. Make a dash inside to buy a Keylime Pie, in the deli. I think they are very good. I got one today and invited friends over tonight to help eat it.

I love your trees, Tootie! I'm so there!! And everything would be so high the cats just wouldn't bother anything! Or...maybe they would.... one is currently crying at the door to get out of the master bedroom where they are in lockdown. Poor fuzzy Sidekick!! Tomorrow at 6 AM....

Love the trees -- I should get a palm, too, then I could pretend that all that white stuff outside the window is sand!

The pie looks great, and reminds me that I never had any key lime while I was there. I'll definitely do better next time!!

Elijah and I were talking about your weather. We decided that if we lived in Florida he would come home and do his homework as fast as he could, and then ride his bike to the beach. (It's ten miles from my house to town and they ride it all the time). Sunshine and warmth sure would be a motivator! :) I like your trees better than mine!

Now... Key Lime Pie for Christmas??? I could DEFINITELY handle THAT! YUM! It's my favorite! Well...after blueberry... but certainly before ... ANYthing else!

I LOVE your Christmas trees! They are just tooooo cute!

I was telling a friend of mine - up in New Hampshire - suffering inches and inches of snow and ice - that I have such a hard time relating to Christmas when it's NOT cold and snowy ... and yet... warm & sandy was just how it WAS the night Christ was born! YOU guys have the absolutely RIGHT idea! LOL! So, why do I feel I need snow this week? I don't HAVE it... but I (sorta) wish I did...
