Thursday's Leisure Shopping

It was really nice out today, sunny and warm, I think in the mid 70's. This afternoon, around three, I made an overseas shopping trip. In the length of time it took me to drive across the causeway, I counted 48 boats, most of them were fishing boats. That would lead me to believe that the fishing is good right now.

I just went to a couple of places at a leisurely pace. Neither place was crowded and I was able to browse, finding some things I wanted, on sale. There wasn't too much traffic today either, which was nice.

On the way back, the sky was really pretty. There were little puffy clouds overhead and as I looked toward the west, there was a bright pink glow. I knew that meant the sun was going down. I tried to get back to the causeway in time to get some photos. It was almost too late, but I did take some just as I went over the highest point on the first bridge. That view of the pink sky behind the palm trees was beautiful. I'm sorry to say that I had a complete failure with those photos, each one of them was blurry. I did manage to salvage a couple I took before the causeway, even though they aren't great either. Note to self: Don't bother to take photos while driving.

Tomorrow night, Sanibel Island will have it's 24th annual Christmas Luminary Trail and Open House. More than three miles of luminary candles will line Periwinkle Way, from 5 to 9 PM. Nearly all the businesses are decorated for the festivities, some offer snacks and some prizes are given. There is also holiday music along the way. this year, I plan to ride the trolley from place to place.

Enjoy luminary night - I've only been there once, and it really was magical! (and that was a good thing, because we spent a LOT of time waiting for the trolley! :) )

Tootie, I think they are blurry because of the light conditions. The shutter stays open longer when there isn't enough light, and the fact that you are moving registers. If it had been lighter out, that would not have happened.

I hope the trolley is running on Saturday too - I am feeling a bit better and maybe I can make it! It would be a shame to miss Luminary for THREE YEARS STRAIGHT!
