Wednesday Shopping

Daughter and SIL spent time on the beach until after lunch, then I picked them up to go to CVS to pick up some prescriptions. After that we went over to Jerry's to wander through all of the shops there. They got a couple T shirts and had fun looking. We also spent some time watching the birds. My legs and back were getting really tired, and when I looked at my watch, I was surprised to see it was 5:00.

We had a little time left to kill before meeting friends for dinner at the Hungry Heron, so we went for a drive. Just a little way after turning onto Bay Drive, I was shocked to see a bob cat standing next to the road, in the grass. I slowed way down and then stopped, then it began walking on across the road. It stopped to look our way a couple of times and then went off the other side, onto a trail that crosses over to Sand Castle Rd. It turned to look at us two more times, because I drove up to that point and stopped again to try getting a picture. It didn't linger around long enough for me to do that. I was lucky enough to get the cell phone camera on and take one picture from further back while it was in the middle of the street. I think it's pretty ironic that in that photo of the bob cat, there is also an SCCF sign. :-)

When we started back up Periwinkle the sun was beginning to set and it looked like the west end of Periwinkle was on fire.

We had a very nice meal and a nice time with the dinner companions who had not yet met Daughter & SIL.

The only bobcat I've seen on the island (in the wild) walked right by my window one day. Pretty amazing. With the number there are here, you would think we would see more. The sunset looked amazing. Hope Becky and her hubby are having a nice relaxing vacation. They deserve it!!

Toots!

We were at Hungry Heron when you all came in...I think...you sat down and said "we may have guests...he said yes and he said no, so we'll see who wins!"

I think its neat to actually see people who you read about almost everyday! Blessings to your family, I am going through sort of the same thing with my dad this year...this is my week on sanibel to kind of 'catch a breath'!

That really is a nice time that you spent with your daughter and other companions! I am glad for that.
I've never seen bob cat and your story was interesting to me. I am sorry you didn't manage to take closer photo of it. By the way I like your photos taken from the car. The sky in the distance looks great; as if it is burning.

Bob cats? That's pretty cool.

As long as they aren't too hungry when I meet them. ;)
