Tuesday Coolness

The temperature has made a big drop here, as a cold front moves through. At 9:00 PM the thermometer is below 60 degrees. That's a real shocker! Walking on the beach this evening required a sweatshirt for me to be comfortable. People here are whining about the cold. :-) We had still been having 80 plus degree weathe until a couple of days ago, when it began to cool off gradually. I actually don't mind it, since it will probably only last a couple days and then warm up again.

There certainly weren't many folks on the beach. The wind wasn't really strong by the time I got there, but from the looks of the sand, I think it had been. In one of the photos, sand looks like drifting snow.

The shells were scarce with the waves bringing in almost nothing but ark shells. There were some shells out a ways in the water, and it looked like the waves were washing the sand off of them. Maybe they'll be coming up on the beach soon, or they might be in sight when the tide is lower.

The only treasures that I spotted on the beach was a huge piece of sponge, which I left there, and a large piece of sea glass. :-) Well, not really it was a big piece from a broken beer bottle with the pointy end sticking up out of the sand. I think it was lying in wait for someones bare foot. Yes, I did pick that up and took it with me.

As I turned to walk away from the beach, I noticed a paper fig laying in the drifted sand all by itself. Maybe it blew up there or someone dropped it. ??

Even though it was a little cool today, it was still very nice on the beach because the wind wasn't strong at all and the sun felt so warm.

WOW! You even get Sea SPONGE??? That's amazing... I don't know why - I guess it has to wash up somewhere ... but I'm still amazed! (doesn't take much!) ;)
