Shell Show Saturday

Here they are. The photos below are of the shells found at Blind Pass on Thursday, early AM; the 'Mother Load'. I sorted through them and have a pile left to box up for my crafty friends, that are not pictured here. I'll click a pic of those after I clean and sort through the next group.

I still have some soaking in a bucket that are a part of the 'Mother Load' too. I'll try to get those done later for you to see. Then I have to clean the ones from the next night. I don't have many from that adventure though. Most of what I found were paper figs and those were donated to Tink; the partner in pillage. You can pay her a visit, since she has kindly put her treasures on display, as well.

I'll also pick out some of the larger shells and put something beside them to give you an idea of how big they are. I tend to forget that.

I think this natica is the biggest one I've seen. I'm sure there are bigger ones, but I think it's beautiful!!

One junonia is perfect except for the missing tip. The next one has a broken strip off the edge and the missing piece you can see. The other two.....well, had to bring them along anyway. :-)

I had put these aside when I first started and forgot to put them with the others. That deep orangy red looking blob is the shell that I mentioned in an earlier post. It appears to have had spiney things on it that have worn off. I'm still not sure what kind it is. Hope somebody can tell me. Maybe a Thorny Oyster?? That's the only one I have seen like it; sure makes me curious. Notice the 3 fan shells in the center; my favorites! :-) And the yellow scallop too.

I'm with Tink. You must have picked up all the Mac and Cheese on the whole length of Sanibel. I didn't see even a broken one. And come on--4 Junonias?? That just isn't fair. I don't care if some of them are just pieces. There are still 4 Junonias!
