Flower Identity

I've been hunting since I posted earlier to find that plant, I was asking about. I think I've finally found it, and probably decided I don't want it after all. From what I've read, even though the blooms are really big and beautiful; for about a full day, they smell like rotting meat. Yuck! The smell must have been gone from the ones I saw, because I didn't notice any odor from them.

(There are two different links here if you are interested.)

Species: Stapelia gigantea

Common name: Carrion Flower, Starfish Flower

Starfish Flower, now that's kind of appropriate for the island. :-)

The gas it uses to inflate and eventually blow open the blossom is smelly, that's why it is sometimes called "Stinky".
